What’s the science behind this chemical peel?
The Perfect Derma Peel contains glutathione, Kojic Acid, Trichloroacetic Acid, Phenol, Salicylic Acid, Vitamin C, and Retinoic Acid. This peel is the first and only of its kind to include glutathione, a powerful antioxidant for aiding aging skin against discoloration.
What can I expect during my procedure?
As with all procedures at The Derm Lab Rx, you’ll start with an in-depth consultation to determine which treatment plan is right for you. The Perfect Derma Peel treatment lasts 30 minutes from start to finish and you might experience a slight active tingling sensation initially, but the peel contains a numbing solution that gives relief after a couple of minutes.
Is there any downtime with this treatment?
You can return to daily life activities immediately post peel, keeping in mind that the solution has a slight orange hue to it and you leave our practice with it still on the skin. Due to your skin being thoroughly chemically exfoliated, you are more susceptible to sun damage and it's important to stay extra protected with an SPF of 50+. After a few days, you’ll likely experience thin sheets of shedding skin. This generally lasts about 3-5 days.
Do I need multiple treatments?
After just one peel, your skin tone and texture will improve, leaving you feeling glowy and fresh. Sessions are recommended every 4-6 weeks, with 2-4 sessions giving you optimal, long-lasting results.
