How does SkinPen Microneedling work?
Microneedling uses the body’s natural healing processes by creating micro-injuries to your skin in order to trigger new cell growth and collagen production without the use of heat or chemicals.
What can I expect during my procedure?
As with all procedures at The Derm Lab Rx, you’ll start with an in-depth consultation to determine if microneedling is right for you. SkinPen Microneedling is a 30-minute procedure, starting with a topical numbing cream for comfort followed by creating micro-channels of the treatment area using the SkinPen’s 14 stainless-steel microneedle device. Lastly, a custom hydrogel is applied for cooling hydration.
Is there any downtime with this treatment?
The SkinPen Microneedling treatment has relatively little downtime, with patients experiencing redness or swelling immediately after the procedure, which generally resolves within a few hours.
Do I need multiple treatments?
Most patients receive six SkinPen Microneedling treatments every 4-6 weeks for optimal results.
