What’s the science behind the treatment?
The Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM) treatment involves using platelets, a component of your blood that is involved in the body’s natural healing processes, as injections to the treatment area in order to stimulate collagen production and cell turnover.
What can I expect during my procedure?
As with all procedures at The Derm Lab Rx, you’ll start with an in-depth consultation to determine if PRFM is right for you. To start the treatment, a vial of blood will be drawn from your arm. Using a centrifuge, our provider will separate the platelet rich plasma from other blood components, which is then injected into your skin.
Is there any downtime with this treatment?
There is little to no downtime after PRFM treatments, which means you can go back to your daily life! Some patients may experience mild redness, swelling, or bruising temporarily.
How long until I see results? How long do they last?
Most patients notice a visible improvement in their skin within a few weeks of the treatment. Generally, the results can continue to improve for up to 6 months!
