How do fillers work?
As you age, your body naturally loses fat & collagen, a protein responsible for providing the strength, structure, and elasticity in your skin. Dermal fillers are gel-like injections, most commonly hyaluronic acid, that replace that loss, resulting in a plumped and refreshed look to your skin.
What can I expect during my procedure?
As with all treatments, we’ll start with a custom consultation to cover your concerns and desired results. To start the procedure, we’ll clean, mark injection areas, and apply a numbing cream to prevent any discomfort. Injections take just seconds per site, but the time of your procedure varies based on the amount of areas being treated.
Is there any downtime with this treatment?
Generally there is little to no downtime with dermal fillers. Some patients experience bruising or swelling, so we advise refraining from strenuous physical activity for 24-48 hours post-treatment.
How long does it take for fillers to work? How long do they last?
After treatment, some patients see results immediately, but expect to see the best results by 2-4 weeks. Dermal fillers can last an average of 6 months up to two years, depending on product choice and optimal correction.
